FibreTrac crane
- Full lifting capacity at any depth with neutrally buoyant fibre rope
- Up to 270t lift capacity with AHC and advanced control system
- Smaller crane and vessel, wider contract opportunities, lower costs
Description
The MacGregor FibreTrac crane is a groundbreaking offshore lifting solution that maximises efficiency and operational flexibility by fully exploiting the benefits of neutrally buoyant, high-performance fibre rope. Unlike steel wire, fibre rope adds virtually no weight in water, allowing operators to utilise the crane’s full lifting capacity at practically any depth. This means smaller cranes and vessels can handle more demanding assignments, enabling owners to bid on a wider range of offshore contracts with lower operating costs.
The system incorporates gentle rope handling and a controlled operating environment to protect the integrity of the fibre rope and ensure a long, reliable service life. With lifting capacities up to 200t (single line) or 270t (double fall), Active Heave Compensation (AHC) direct on winch, and MacGregor’s in-house developed control system, the FibreTrac crane delivers safe, precise, and efficient deep-water lifting. Flexible installation options, including mounting the main winch on the crane or below deck, and auxiliary winches with up to 25t SWL and 4,000m wire capacity, further enhance operational versatility.
